First thirty-nine engravings apparently made from the original plates, which were engraved by Charles Grignion from drawings mainly by Jan van Rymsdyk and Petrus Camper.

Health Sciences Library copy contains two letters of correspondence between Dr. Smallwood and Dean Lambert regarding gift (from. Dr. Smallwood) of text to Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1912.
