Rare Book copy filled in as follows: "Two years after date, [we] promise to pay to the order of "G. Simon] at [the La Fayettte Bank Fifteen Hundred x]/100 dollars. Value received ' With the Interest at 6 per centr from Oct. 16th 1863] The Cincinnati Type Foundry ... Treasurer". The signature of the treasurer has been crossed out. Written vertically across the note "Paid July 12, 1865". On verso inscribed (signed?) G. Simon. Inscribed in graphite: "Owned by G. Simon."
Rare Book copy: Housed with other examples of fancy, or antique, printing.
