A translation of the "De augmentis scientiarum" (first part of the Instauratio magna) which is an enlargement, translated into Latin, of the Advancement of learning, 1605.

Irregularities in pagination: first group of paging, p. 11 numbered 14; second group of paging, p. 50, 55, and 90 numbered 52, 53, and 80 respectively. Following p. 280, the pagination is as follows: 209-216, 289, 291, 220-221, 294, 223, 296-330, 231, 333-352, 351-360, 561, 362-363, 356, 366-477.
