Illustrations: 56 engravings, comprising engraved title border (signed: Bernardinvs Passarvs Ro. Inv.) which includes the arms of Pope Gregory XIII and two cardinals, 54 bordered engravings (incl. 1 repeat) depicting scenes from the lives of Christ and the Virgin, other Biblical scenses, the battle of Lepanto, etc. (presumably after Passeri and engraved in Italy or in the Netherlands), and 1 engraving of a different style and size depicting the Resurrection of Lazarus and signed with the initials of Jan Wierix and Pierre van der Borcht (cf. Alvin: Wierix, note after no. 1620).
