Includes "'Jefferson, &c.' A series of essays which originally appeared in the American sentinel, published at Philadelphia; ..." p. [55]-94 (H-M⁴), not present in some copies. Mathew Carey sometimes used the pseudonym "Jefferson," and these essays are sometimes erroneously attributed to him.
