An edition of African chess (1990)

African chess

Dated before Mandela's release from prison, this is a fast moving story that captures the apartheid struggle when Michael (White) and Robert (Black) grow up being treated as totally equal. Robert falls foul of the the South African police and both men flee to Britain with the security hitmen following behind. There is constant harassment and attempts to kill the boys but, Michael uses the London Commodity Markets to gain a financial strength to fight back. African Chess is relentless suspense, with move upon countermeve until the final Checkmate.
