Edition Notes
Title vignettes (portraits); illustrated half-title precedes each play.
The plays occupy v. 1-10; the Poems and life form an unnumbered volume, while an additional volume is entitled: ..."Studies of Shakespeare: introductory volume, containing a history of opinion on the writings of Shakespeare; with the chronology of his plays." These two unnumbered volumes are differently placed in different sets, and sometimes wanting. (cf. W. Jaggard, Shakespeare bibliography, p. 528, and Catalogue of the Shakespeare memorial library, Birmingham, p. 21)
