Comprises 4 engravings, detached from an unknown source, of fireplaces and mantles, each with an illustration of a scene of sacrifice on an altar above the mantle. Numbered in plate: XXXVIII (sacrifice of a ram); XXXVI (sacrifice of Isaac); XXXV (unidentified); XXXVII (unidentified).
Not in Berlin. Ornamentstichsammlung in this form.
The relationship, if any, between these plates and the drawings Brosse made of the fireplaces in a gallery of the Luxembourg Palace for Rubens, is unknown.
