The text was scanned from an 1893 Baedeker Italy book, and laser printed on Frankfurt white papter. Each page was dyed with Lavazza espresso, then printed with linoleum blocks. An altered book consisting of reproductions of various scattered pages from: "Italy, handbook for travellers / by K. Baedeker. Second Part, Central Italy and Rome. Eleventh revised edition. Leipsic : Karl Baedeker, publisher, 1893." Some pages are double (e.g. fold out map), many have linoleum prints, usually in black, sometimes in one or two colors, over the text or instead of the text; other pages have mounted cut-out linoleum prints, some of which are folded. Endpapers are maps of Rome. Covers are of wood, painted red with "Rome" painted in gold with border in gold; black leather spine.
