In the title of his reply, "Miscellaneous remarks on a pamphlet lately published, entitled 'The Force of Prejudice' ... 1824," Roswell Judson identifies the author of The force of prejudice ... as "The Rev. ---- ----, Rector of St. Paul's and Peter's Churches at ----, and ----." Menzies Rayner was pastor at St. Paul's Church, Huntington, Conn. and St. Peter's Church, Monroe, Conn., from 1811 to 1827, and most of his publications for this period were printed in New Haven. Cf.
