This document follows the characteristics of the manufacturing process of handmade pottery in the town of La Victoria, (Canton Pujilí in Cotopaxi Province, Republic of Ecuador in South America). Basically, describes the history of ceramics in Pujilí, current traditional techniques used in the pottery and that these techniques cause damage to people and the natural environment, the most serious of these is the damage caused by the use of lead for glazing pottery, in people who work with him. However, the most important of this study is the finding in the laboratory, a harmless formula for glazing ceramics. The formula is described at the end of the document.
