Composed in a Flemish atelier probably for a Portuguese patron, in the first decade of the 16th century. cf. p. 75-77.
In the possession of Martin Heckscher, Vienna, 1886?-1898. Acquired 1898 at the sale of that collection by Mayer van den Bergh (Christie, Manson and Woods, Catalogue ... Auction May 4, 1808, no. 280)
"The English edition of the Mayer van den Bergh breviary has been limited to 300 copies on strong vellum paper, numbered 1 to 300. "
On last leaf of text, recto: The printing of this book was completed on August 31st, 1932, by the Imprimerie J. E. Goossens, incorportated company ... Brussels ... Plates in quadrichromy and gold, by the firm Jean Malvaux, incorporated company of photo-engraving.
Issued in portfolio enclosed in slip case.
