Edition Notes

Title from magnetic label affixed to box lid.

Artist's book series (5 works first issued separately between 2007 and 2011): Ornamental deciduos tree (2007) consists of an accordion fold fan structure (with letterpress text) housed in a test tube and fashioned to mimic a ginko leaf that opens as it is drawn out of the tube; Deconstructing the pyramids in nummulitic limestone (2008) is a folded scroll designed to be read from right to left and housed in a box that also contains four fixed folded scrolls in similar design; Sunday stone (2010) is a compound accordion fold-codex structure (designed when closed to effect stratified rock), containing graphite manuscript text on the interspersed codex leaves and luminscent forms on verso sections of the accordion fold volume; Cage--4 notes in 33 variations (2010) is a miniature music box with the metal posts positioned to spell "CAGE" on a cork cylinder; On Seats of Learning--Carmen less miserable making El Figaro cigars (2011) comprises a circular fan constructed from navy blue cloth containing a poem printed in gold lettering, which opens by extracting it from its cigar-shaped container.

Issued as a set in a compartmentalized yellow tin box.

Each volume in the series also issued separately.

Most pieces signed by the artist; editioned in 30 copies.
