A "true copy" of a letter written by Charles Lawrence, lieutenant-governor of Nova Scotia (Governor, 1756-1760) to Thomas Robinson, British secretary of state, describing the taking of Fort Beauséjour by the British under Monckton in 1755. Fort Beauséjour was a French military fort built in 1751 on the north bank of the Missaguash river on the Acadian peninsula.
