Mezzotint portrait of Robert Monckton.

Monckton succeeded Wolfe at the Plains of Abraham, but, being wounded, instructed Townshend to take command. Cf. DNB XIII 612-614 (at the end of which article this engraving of Monckton's portrait is mentioned).
