Edition Notes
Added t.p. in Aleut-Fox.
Text of Matthew in Aleut-Fox (in Church Slavonic characters) and Russian (in Cyrillic characters) in parallel columns, followed by readings for Easter Sunday, Luke I, and Acts I-II in Atkin-Aleut only (in Church Slavonic chracaters). The two dialects of Aleut are languages sufficiently distinct as to be mutually incomprehensible: the first is Aleut-Fox, Eastern Aleut, Unalaska, or Unalashka; the second is Atkin-Aleut, Atka, or Western Aleut. Cf. Les langues du monde (Paris : CNRS, 1952), p. 973-974; Lada-Mocarski 107.
Numerous errors in pagination; p. 247 numbered 237; p. [238] & [22] blank. Cf. Lada-Mocarski; Pilling.
Includes bibliographical references (Lada-Mocarski 107; Pilling (Eskimo), pages 101-103).
