Statement of responsibility from dedicatory leaf, Fowler suggests 1665-1667 as date for Book 2.
Present copy comprises Books 1-3, with the plates numbered. Book 1 has 35 numbered leaves of plates, Book 2 has 17, both including title leaves and dedications to Mario Chigi, nephew of Alexander VII. Book 3 has 38 numbered leaves of plates. The copy in the Fowler catalogue has 37, 21, and 36 leaves respectively.
Dedication of Book 1, leaf 2, dated 1665 and reads in part: Messe in prospettiva disegnate & intagliate de Gio.Battista Falda da Valduggia.
Reissue of the first three vols. by Falda v. 2 has title: Il secondo libro del' novo teatro delle fabriche et edifici fatte fare in Roma e fuori di Roma; v. 3: Il terzo libro del' novo teatro delle chiese di Roma.
Books 1, 2 and 3 have special title pages.
