The Life of Charles Drew is the story of a pioneer in medical research. Best know as the "father of modern blood banking," Chrles Drew was a gifted surgeon and teacher. His career is also the courtageous record of a man who devoted his efforts to the fight for racial equality. Charles Drew saw the trainingof a future generation of African-American doctors as his greastest contribution to medicine. To Drew, medical training ment much more than surgical techniques, however. Charles Drew wante to give his students what he called the "greatest type of moral courage--the courage to overcome."
