If interested I found an original 1883 copy, complete. w/original hard cover as well. The binding, where worn, is all intact. The book is complete from front to back. It is a 3 part book part I consisting of 41 chapters covering the pioneers of civilization, out to chapter XLI mound builders, pioneer schools and Sunday schools. Part II starts with the plains, characters, Indian atrocities, etc with chapter XXV adventures of Buffalo Bill. Part III starts with a general history of California, John Fremont, Gold, etc. Ending with chapter XXVI a brief breakdown of Davy Crockett.
