"The design of this book, its embellishments, handset type and printing are mine. The text and self-portraits are by Don Bachardy. The binding is by Allwyn O'Mara. The typefaces are Goudy 30 and Barnard's Tango. The papers are Hahnemuhle and Thai Unryu. This is the seventh book from my press Imprenta Glorias in an edition of 30, finished at Los Angeles in 1997, and is number ..."--Colophon.
Pages [1-4, 6-8, 10, 12, 14-16] of first sequence are blank. Pages 1-15 of second sequence are printed such that page 1 is printed on the recto and page 2 on the verso of 2 sequential leaves, thus with 2 blank pages between pages 1 and 2. This pattern continues with 2 blank pages between 3-4, also between 5-6, etc.; this pattern continues until p. 15 which is followed by 3 blank pages. Page [1] of third sequence is a printed fibrous orange-colored tissue paper; p. [2, 4-5, 8-9, 11-12,14-15, 18-19] of third sequence are blank; p. [11-12] of third sequence are a leaf of fibrous orange-colored tissue paper and conjugate to the earlier printed fibrous orange-colored tissue paper in the third sequence.
Pocket mounted on p. [3] of cover (pocket is 14 x 10 cm.) with self-portrait of Bachardy and "A sitter's thoughts" printed on it. Seven slender slips of colored paper inserted in pocket, each slip containing a single printed sentence; each slip is roughly between 2 x 17 and 2 x 23 cm. in size and each is folded in half.
Bound in boards that have been covered in fibrous orange-colored tissue paper; has red endpapers made of fibrous red-colored tissue paper. The two boards are connected with a hand-sewn chain stitch and the chain stitching is exposed (i.e. piece is backless). The piece is in a plexiglass slipcover.
