Plates are printed in red and blue, showing all possible combinations of any two letters in the alphabet.

Binding design probably by Owen Jones. Cf. Ball, Douglas. Victorian publishers' bindings, 1985: p. 154.

Plate [27] shows monograms of female names beginning with each letter of the alphabet, with the text of each corresponding name printed on the verso.
