Edition Notes

List of 'Errata' at end of text.

The DNB article on Thomas Campion, physician, poet and musician, does not list this work, stating only that 'Campion's publications have never been collected; he seems to have enjoyed a high reputation in his lifetime ... All his works are regarded as very precious by collectors'. His burial on 1 March 1619 is entered in the register of St. Dunstan's-in-the-West, London; since the present work was entered in the Stationer's Register on 21st August, 1619, it may have been compiled soon after his death.
