The original Offt begehrte Beschreibung der newen orientalischen Reise ... appeared in 1647, including J.A. von Mandelslo's short account of his voyage in India and Africa (first published in 1645). The voyages of Mandelslo, ed. from his papers, were published by Olearius in 1658. The first ed. of Wicquefort's translation appeared in Paris, 1656; the 2nd, "augmentée ... d'une 2de partie contenant le voyage de Jean Albert de Mandeslo, Paris 1659, and Leyde, P. van der Aa, 1719, 4 vols. in 2, fol. The present edition is that of Van der Aa; with a new t.p. Dutch versions appeared (Amsterdam 1651) and later an English translation (London, 1662).
