LC set from the Elagin Palace library. Top of green-leather-covered box stamped in gold with Russian Imperial eagle and title inside ruled border. Cyrillic monogram E.D. (Elaginskiĭ Dvoret͡s︡/Elagin Palace) at base of spine. The set has Law Library of Congress accession no. 519353 dated May 13, [19]37.
Special collected edition or made-up set. Volumes are identified on title pages and spines as: Voinskīĭ ustav o stroevoĭ kavalerīĭskoĭ sluzhbi͡e︡, ch. [1] through 5; Voinskīĭ ustav o polevoĭ kavalerīĭskoĭ sluzhbi͡e︡, ch. 1 and 2; and other individual titles. But each v. is numbered at head of spine according to contents on label mounted inside front folding panel of box. Label lists 12 volumes and has heading: V kartoni͡e︡ pod No. 1-m zakli͡u︡chai͡u︡tsi͡a︡ voinskīe ustavy ...

LC set incomplete: vol. 1 wanting. Custom-made box was designed for the remaining volumes. Each text volume bound in green leather and tooled in gold on covers and spine. Numbered consecutively at head of spine, 2 through 11. Includes a duplicate copy of v. 11 but with the spine labeled in Cyrillic "K No. 10" (addition to No. 10).
