A translation of a pamphlet published anonymously, Paris, 1780, under title: "Observations sur le Mémoire justificatif de la cour de Londres". The "Mémoire justificatif" referred to was written by Edward Gibbon, at the instigation of the British government, as a reply to the French "Exposé des motifs de la conduite du roi de France, relativement à l'Angleterre." The three pamphlets relate to the conduct of France in assisting the Americans in their struggle for independence.
