Edition Notes
The two essays in v. 1 were previously published separately. The "Sketch ... followed by several letters" in v. 2 is translated from the French by Sister Daniel, and was published in Bruxelles in 1847 under title: Notice sur le territore et sur la mission de l'Oregon, suivie de quelques lettres de soeurs de Notre Dame établies à Saint Paul du Willamette.
