The book also provides information about the shooting of President Lincoln, Ford's Theatre today, and the Civil War. This book is illustrated and contains archival photographs and drawings. It also includes bolded vocabulary sidebars. Children will be able to identify with the young, main character and learn about an important event in American history at the same time."

Edition Notes

The author, Alvin Robert Cunningham, is a retired educator of 34 years. He taught American History at Henry High School in Henry, Illinois and Social Studies in the Ottawa Elementary Schools in Ottawa, Illinois. Mr. Cunningham enjoys reading, especially about American history in the 19th century. He and his wife enjoy living at their new home in Streator, Illinois.
