BOOK THE FIRST.
1. Birth and infancy of St. Stanislaus. — 2. His education at Vienna in the Jesuit's College. — 3. He continues his studies after the fall of that Establishment, and suffers much from, the harsh treatment of his Brother. — 4. In a dangerous illness he receives the Viaticum in a miraculous manner. His recovery, and vocation to the Society of Jesus. — 5. He takes measures to follow his vocation. — 6. He escapes from Vienna, and is pursued. — 7. His arrival at Hillengen, and journey thence to Rome; where he is deceived by St. Francis Borgia, and admitted into the novitiate.
BOOK THE SECOND.
1. St. Stanislaus receives a threatening leter from his Father, and answers it. — 2. His favour, docility, candour, and affability. — 3. His love of God, and of his Blessed Mother: his love of prayer, and purity. — 4. His last illness and death. — 5. His reputed sanctity, and beatification.
BOOK THE THIRD.
1. The conversion and penitential life of Paul Kostka. — 2. By the intercession of Blessed Stanislaus a drowned Child is restored to life. — 3. A Client of his obtains the grace of living virtuously, and dying holily.— 4. A Novice of Lima recovers the perfect use, of his limbs, which he had lost by palsy. — St. Stanislaus is chosen Patron of Poland, and obtains great favours for that kingdom. — Assists his Countrymen, in their, wars against the Turks, and the Tartars.— 7. And is solemnly beatified and canonized.
