Updated from earlier work by Mary Bingham Marsh. Updated through Spring/Summer 1999 with genealogical information on 3500+ descendants of James Bigham, native of Ireland and later of Marion District, SC. Descendants traced as many as 10 generations with many contacts made via. telephone. Newspaper clippings, old obituaries, stories, memorabilia, full color photographs. Brief sketches of other Bigham/Bingham familes across America and a history of the surname as well. A chapter on the Bigham Murders of 1921, one of the most infamous killing sprees in South Carolina history at the time, mostly newspaper accounts of the murders, trial, and release some 39 years later. 400+ pages, including full index.
