"The epistle dedicatory" of the original 1684 ed. was signed by the translator: Geo. Sinclar. The book is a translation of the Latin lectures on the Westminster Confession of Faith (Praelectiones in confessionem fidei), which circulated in ms. among Prof. Dickson's pupils. The work was published by Sinclair as his own work, and was not published under Dickson's name until 1726. Cf. Halkett & Laing.
