Camping at Cherry Pond is one of the small and rare, self-published, "Birch Bark Books" written by Henry Abbott. It is a true story about the experiences of the author and his partner, Bige, deer hunting and camping at Cherry Pond in the Adirondack region of New York state. Obtaining a "balanced ration" proves a challenge, due to the deer's sense of smell and sight, and tree's that get in the way of bullets. Other animals, such as mink, beaver and bear, are observed and their habits described.
