Historical and Architectural study of a Templar Castle, in Tomar, Portugal.
Built originally in 1160, by Gualdim Pais, a Portuguese Provincial master Templar. The castle was, later on, turned into a Convent that grew out of the castle walls, thus demolishing parts of the XII century construction.
This booklet is a military engineer interpretation of the Templar construction.
In our days we know, for sure, that some of the considerations made by the author in the 1930´s, are for fact wrong. But, the core analysis, about the constructive system, and the info on contemporaneous works are still a major value
