Married to Jack Kennedy in Dixie, brother of an Ontario Premier Thomas Laird Kennedy, she gave birth to seven sons and three daughters, two of whom died as a result of lightning strikes. She is recognized as having written and produced the first Canadian radio play for children, starring her own children. Evelyn's life is testimony that when lightning strikes, we can do as she did, rally against its force and continue to have faith in life.
