This is an autobiographical account of life on a Somerset farm in the 1940s'. Once again Monica takes us into the farm kitchen like an old friend and pontificates on the countryside and how man might preserve it. Surprisingly, some of her ideas, which had lost favour in the intervening years are coming back into fashion. A fasinating account of rural life.
