The final leaf is an 'Addition, by the translator [i.e. Samuel Hoole]', beginning: "It is proper to inform the reader, that the preceding essay has not Mr. Leeuwenhoek for its author, but is taken from a letter written to him on the subject by G. Bidloo, .. and published in the Dutch edition of Mr. Leeuwenhoeck's works, ..".
