To appreciate fully the growth and development of Glendora and its outlying area it is necessary to look back into the dim and distant past. We know little about the upper reaches of the San Gabriel Valley before white men cast their eyes upon it, but it is not too difficult to read into the past certain things which become obvious with only slight consideration. We do know how the early settlers found the land and from their descriptions we can momentarily return to the era of sagebrush and cactus.
