One story in the book is The red shoes. it's rather different than the hans christian anderson version. a little girl has an aunt kate whose mother asks to take the girl for new black patent shoes. the girl sees red ones in the shop window and her aunt kate sees this. She buys her the black ones and the red ones. they dance of their own accord at night. it's not a dark story like the original hans christian anderson. The book contains many tales. this one was my favorite.
