An edition of The ocean book (1946)

The ocean book

This book is well written. It is very informative, a book for old and young alike. See the ocean in a different way, it is not just saltwater. Read about people who make their living from the ocean, like Bert Sparkes, who was just a 15 year old boy when John.Y.Beaty met him near the old fish flakes of the Outer Battery, in St.John's Newfoundland in 1938. Bert Sparkes not only showed Mr.Beaty around but also taught him some things about fishing in st.john's newfoundland, and Mr. Beaty taught Bert some things about the ocean bert never new before. Some of what i wrote here is not in the book like age, year, and the place in St.John's, these are personal facts that i know about Bert Sparkes and when this took place, because that boy who showed Mr.Beaty around was my father. This maybe a nature book but to me it is a history book.
