Charging George Taylor, attorney for the colony of Rhode Island, and John Foster, clerk, with malfeasance in the taxing of bills of credit against the county of Providence.
Signed and dated: Providence, April 2, 1763. Esek Hopkins. In his reply, Bristol B244, Taylor says of Hopkins "... all who know him, know also he never wrote it ..." but he does not name those whom he suspects of acting through Hopkins.
William Goddard was the only printer active at Providence in 1763.
