According to the "Préambule," the narrative is edited from the manuscript of a deceased English officer who had lived in Louisana.
Has especial reference to the revolt against the Spanish authority in 1768-1769.
"Mémoire, des habitans & negocians de la Louisiane, sur l'evénement du 29, octobre 1768. A l'univers": 32 p. at end.
Later editions were published in 1776 and 1781 under the title: Étatprésent de la Louisiane. An English translation of one of the later editions is included in French's Historical memoirs of Louisiana, 1853 [part 5] p. [127]-233, with title: Memoir on the present state of Louisiana.
