Foreseeing the delay in appearance of Part II, A short history of the Roman people, by Allen, the publishers provisionally appended to Part I, p. 239-471, an extract form the corresponding part of Myers' Outlines of ancient history, 1882. In 1890 Allen's Part II appeared, but later in the same year another Part II, A history of Rome, by Myers, was published, being a revision of the corresponding part of the author's Outlines of ancient history, 1882.
