Facsimile of a copy of the first edition of Burns' poems, including twenty-seven closely written pages in the handwriting of the poet, besides his original letter to the owner of the book, the Rev. Dr. Alexander Geddes, afterwards Bishop Geddes.
The "Introductory" encloses a concise history of the volume by one of the former owners, Mr. James Black in Detroit, up to the time it came into his possession.
