"Based on the old Caledonian Railway dockyard tank locomotive, Rob Roy has been a popular choice of model by enthusiasts since Martin Evans first presented it as the subject of a novices' building competition at the 1962 Model Engineer exhibition.
This book provides a "blow-by-blow" description of its building, based on the original instructions that appeared in the magazine at the time, but appreciably augmented by additional details where reader's correspondence has indicated the need.
