Marc barely slept that night. He was too keyed up by the wild evening he’d spent with Diana. First, they’d dropped Dan and Craig at the Brookner office downtown so they could pick up their cars, after which he’d instructed the driver — a guy in his thirties who had surely heard the racket and known exactly what was happening — to take them to the Venetian.

Sitting in the back of the limo, he’d kissed Diana with all the passion he had left inside him after spending so damn much of it through the evening. “Well,” he’d said softly, his hands buried in her hair, “looks like you found that sin you were looking for.”

She’d misunderstood his intent. “Did I just…mess things up with you by doing what I did tonight? Make you…not like me as much as before? Do you think I’m a slut?”
