An edition of The immortality man (1993)

The immortality man.

The story, half of which takes place on Planet 25.9.3, parallels the event which happened on Earth some 2000 years ago and tells how the advanced civilisations of the galaxy, where the other half of the story evolves, influenced the direction of Planet 25.9.3’s development.
Jal, the immortality man, is born on Planet 25.9.3 and when a young man, is mentored for an evangelical role by Saron from Paltea. Jal travels his part of the world and carries out the miracles which his genetically-modified powers enable him to perform as he sets standards of excellence in behaviour. Meanwhile, a megalomaniac on a planet similar to 25.9.3, far away in the distant galaxy, defeats its planet-wide defensive system and nuclear catastrophe ensues. The repercussions cause the Galactic Council to withdraw on many galactic planetary projects – such as the one on Planet 25.9.3
The Jal project is terminated in a way that only an advanced civilisation could accomplish so that the legacy of Jal would last for thousands of years.
