One clay and one loam textured minesoil in Kentucky were sieved and compacted and then planted with sericea lespedeza and Kentucky 31 tall fescue. Kentucky 31 tall fescue was easier to establish than sericea lespedeza. Sericea lespedeza was also more easily compacted than KY-31 tall fescue.
