Adventures in Music with the Recorder is a program designed to teach children how to read music, learn tempo, harmony, rhythm, and correct finger positioning for the recorder. Your child takes a journey around the world with animated "star" Rick Order as he meets new friends and learns new songs. Children begin the tutorial in Rick's room where they will be able to click pictures on the wall that take them to specific countries.
Depending on the country selected, an animated character explains different notes: Panchen Lama teaches quarter notes, half notes and whole notes; Tika teaches quarter rests, half rests and dotted half notes; Shaka teaches eighth notes, ties and dotted quarter notes; and Pierro explains eighth note rests. In total, there are 37 traditional songs and 60 music lessons continued at any time. Once mastering the included songs, you can download additional songs from the Ubi Soft web site or even create your own. But that's not all -- the box also comes with a Yamaha recorder!
