A first biography of fra' Giovanni Giocondo as an architect since epigraphical studies in Rome to archeology and ancient architecture and urban planning in Neaples and surroundings. French invasion forced him to Modern fortress studies against fire weapons. He followed victorious Charles VIII to France studying aqueducts for Blois castle gardens and a roman new bridge in Paris (pont Notre-Dame). Then he was invited to Venice with the important task of Consilii X maximus architectus to solve ydraulic problems of Venice Lagoon and hinterland, then new fortifications against Lega Santa. After a project for Rialto market 1514 was named St. Peter's in Rome chief architect with Raffaello, after Bramante's death,
