Otfrid von Weissenburg

Otfrid of Weissenburg was a Carolingian priest and poet. He is the first German poet whose name we know from his work.


Otfrid von Weißenburg ist der erste namentlich bekannte althochdeutsche Dichter. Nach Otfrid wird der von ihm verwendete Endreimvers auch als Otfridvers bezeichnet.
