David C. Anderson (1942–2005) was a journalist and a former member of the New York Times editorial board who wrote for numerous publications including the New York Times Magazine and the Wall Street Journal. He was the author of Crimes of Justice: Improving the Police, the Courts, the Prisons; Crime and the Politics of Hysteria: How the Willie Horton Story Changed American Justice; and Sensible Justice: Alternatives to Prison (The New Press).
